The King Amigos School Garden is coordinated by CitySprouts, a year-round garden program in Cambridge, MA that partners with teachers and other educators to develop and utilize outdoor classrooms in 10 public schoolyards.

8th Grade Responds to Farmer's Visit
“What I have learned is that women can work as farmers and not just men. There were logs of budgets to owning a farm and it’s a business like you need to go to school to learn how to become a farm and I always thought you don’t need to go to school to do farming. Also, when you start a farm there are a lot of risks like the weather, the bugs, if the seeds work. I actually can’t believe that there’s a lot of things to owning a farm like for a tractor $10,000 if it is used, greenhouse that she got from a friend for $900. The most outrageous thing is that seeds are $12 a bag and how much she needs it adds up to $2,500.” -- King 8th Grader
